This town deserves it's own page! As the city prepared for for its annual foray into wickedness with the Mardi Gras celebrations, we came in with 120 people showing the truth about abortion and preaching in the streets. The police were excellent. They gave us free reign to walk through the streets among the traffic and hand out thousands of pieces of literature. They praised us for our leadership, organization and demeanor.

Bruce had extensive talks both with the New Orleans city police and a representative of the Louisiana State Police who was there to monitor the situation. They were so effusive with their praise, they offered that if there was anything they could do to help, we need only ask!

The next day we were scheduled to be in Meridian, Mississippi, where police had promised our attorneys that they would never let the display be set up in their city. We were set for a show-down. Bruce had an idea to ask the Louisiana State Police representative if he would mind contacting the Chief of Police in Meridian, MS and tell them what our event in New Orleans was like and see if that would soften his stance. The Louisiana State Police rep agreed to do that for us! The next day in Meridian... well you're going to have to read that page to see what happened!

The signs come out among the preparations for Mardi Gras on an unusually cool day. 120 people were set up with signs, stretched out for a half mile in each direction.

Lauren Murch, one of the most effective distributors of literature on the tour, Hustled back and forth on the median. Traffic was backed up for about 3 light cycles, so everyone got literature, and literally 80% of the people took it. Beverly Murch hands a piece to a city bus driver who flagged her for it.

From left: Elijah (6), Hannah (10), Evan (9) and Josiah (4) hold up the Christian flag and a photo of a baby 8 weeks into life. Pastor Matt Trewhella, leader of the Missionaries to the Preborn, preaches in downtown New Orleans while Pastor Jeff Peterson of Minnesota holds a banner saying "God -Less America".

The very moment we got our signs out at University of New Orleans, the deluge began. The rain came down in sheets, forcing us under cover. But we made the best of it until it eased up enough to start preaching and handing out literature. Bruce had a confrontation with police who insisted that no literature could be handed out on campus. Push came to shove (so to speak) until Bruce was told he would face arrest if he or anybody else handed out another piece of literature. In the mean time, street preacher Jason Storms, a native of New Orleans and married to the daughter of Pastor Matt Trewhella, met with campus administration and came back with an agreement which allowed us the busy intersection where most students travel to classes. Locals are already challenging their infringement of rights on public property.

Elijah Murch (6) and Josiah (4) pass out literature hand out literature on campus. It's pretty tough to turn down those two cute little guys!

Aaron Murch (20) argues with a student who claims that we are nothing but a collection of chemical and electrical impulses made up of what we eat. If we eat carrots, we become partly carrots and everything else we eat, and we simply die and become part of the ground, fertilizing the ground and "becoming" part of what grows there and whatever eats what grows there. This is a product of the God-hating government school system. Beverly Murch witnesses to a young man who believes that Jesus was just a man, and the Bible was just written by men.

This couple, pierced and tattooed, claimed to be Christian. "I AM a f***king Christian", she said! They claimed that God doesn't condemn sodomy, and that He doesn't "judge" anybody. The same old "judgmental" mantra. They both judged us as being hateful and judgmental. When it was pointed out to them that they were being judgmental by condemning us for being judgmental, they claimed it wasn't "really". It's only judgmental if WE do it!  The two young ladies at right were outraged that we had our children "out in the 40 degree weather and the rain". She said she called Social Services on us, but that they could not come out without a specific address for the children.

Of course, we always expect this reaction to the truth, but there were some excellent conversations, and some students were clearly moved by what they heard and saw.
