Day 1: Bridgeport, Connecticut

The tour began in Bridgeport, Conn. at the corner of Main and Jewett Streets at evening rush hour. We chose this location because it is very close to the new location of Summit Women's Center. This abortuary was fought by many residents and business owners, and there are regularly 25-40 people protesting outside the mill every time the open for their gruesome killing business. There are regularly 3-5 clergy in attendance, both Protestant and Catholic.

At left, a mother/daughter team from Maryland hold a banner reading "Love Your Neighbor. Stop Baby-Murder". At right, Police in Bridgeport have no problem with Missionaries approaching cars in the street while they are stopped in traffic. The folks in Bridgeport were very receptive to the literature, more so than in any other city we visited.

Beverly Murch holds a photo of a live 8-week in-utero child, with Hannah (10) holding the Christian flag. Elijah (5) and Josiah (4) accompany Mom. The rest of the Murch children hold up a picture of an 8-week suction-aborted child (this is the age that most abortions are done). This is the first time that this particular photo has ever been unveiled in public. It reads, "God Bless America?"

Missionaries line the busy streets of Bridgeport for a quarter mile in every direction, displaying about 75 signs and distributing several thousand pieces of literature. William Marshall, pastor of the black store-front church located directly across the street from the killing center, invited the Missionaries to sleep on the floor of the church. This is right in downtown Bridgeport. He was concerned for the safety of our vehicles, and we tried to squeeze our 18 vehicles into his fenced-in parking lot. It didn't work, but all the vehicles remained safe. Pastor Marshall slept on the floor with us that night and sent us off with blessings in the morning. The Missionaries passed the hat for Pastor Marshall and his church in gratitude for his support and help.
