Day 3: Brattleboro, Montpelier & Burlington, Vermont
Full Quiver Mission and Missionaries to the Preborn storm through the state that is the first to legalize homosexual "unions" (marriages). The spiritual climate in this state was so wicked that you could literally feel it as you entered and left the borders of the state. In Vermont, we were physically assaulted and the confrontation was constant. Wicked, God-hating pro-aborts, sodomites and lesbians rallied from everywhere. Police were actually apologetic to us about the behavior of their citizens !

At left, Elijah (5) and Josiah (4) Raise the Christian Standard over the streets of Brattleboro. These little guys were pretty active in the events on the whole tour, and loved being a part it. Holding a flag is especially a cool thing, I'm told.
Above, over 30 pro-aborts gather in front of the Planned Parenthood in Brattleboro. In this town of only 8,000 residents, it is clear that God-hating wickedness rules the day here. It was especially discouraging to note that over half of the crowd was made up of high school age kids. They have already set their paths and the pictures of dead children, which they advocate, did not move them. We were routinely cursed and screamed at, and the crowd was the most vitriolic we had encountered thus far (but we hadn't gotten to Burlington yet!). Upon arriving home, Bruce had a death threat in his email from an anonymous Brattleboro resident threatening to shoot us with high-powered rifles from windows in the city if we ever return.

Violence broke out as this woman pulled over, left her car door open and struck the elderly woman in the picture at right. Men from our group immediately came to her aid and restrained the woman, who was in a wild frenzy. Several times they attempted to let her up, but she continued to attack them, kicking and punching. The police arrived after a painfully long time. The police initially asked the young lady "which of these men assaulted you?" Fortunately, we had the entire incident on videotape. During her restraint, Pastor Ralph Ovadal ministered the Gospel to her, telling her that Jesus could heal her of her pain and torment. It turns out that she had had an abortion, and was in denial about what she had done.
In the meantime, her 2-year-old
had wandered out into the street while she was being restrained. The elderly
woman who was attacked was seen squatting on the ground holding his hand and
comforting him. A baby was left in the car seat as well. No charges were filed,
as it seemed good to exercise mercy in this case. We pray that God will use this
incident to bring her to repentance and faith in Christ.
We were glad to pack up and leave this town. There is something important to remember. We had 90 people swing in to their town and force them to see and come to grips with that which they advocate. We were a prophetic witness against the town. In some cases we function as a vehicle for repentance. Which ever way it works, every stop is a success, because the Word of God "never returns void, but always accomplishes the thing whereunto it was sent".
Montpelier, the Capitol City

The Missionaries blew into Montpelier. The Capitol is also a small town of only 8,000 residents. The folks here were just a combination of sheer apathy and vile godlessness. We set up a display on the main street in front of the Capitol and on its steps. Pastor Ovadal began preaching the Gospel of Christ and calling them to repentance for their wickedness. This is the state that allows same-sex marriages, and sodomites freely express their perversion in public here.

Above left: Montpelier resident chastises one of
the missionaries for showing the pictures of dead babies. The argument
always has to do with "children seeing those pictures". When these
people are shown that our own children are holding these photos, they cry
"brainwashing"! Several locals on this stop approached Murch children
and told them they are brainwashed, and that they need to have an "open
mind". My children's response was to tell them they were not open to
believe that murdering babies could ever be OK, and that they know exactly why
they believe what they believe.
Above: Our street preachers contend with a group of young people that were part of an organization of "future legislators". They debated for at least an hour. These kids have some scary views on freedom and government. I don't think they will like the country they live in if their ideas become law! Some of them thought we should be arrested for showing our signs. Some thought we should not be allowed to approach people with literature!
Lower left: Sam Murch (13) is posted on State street with the family's "Kidsx9 van".
Burlington

We don't have too many photos of Burlington because this city was so wicked, that we had to invoke tight protective presence for all the missionaries. The first vehicle to enter the city was pelted with rocks and eggs. Our street preacher was immediately surrounded by a large group of sodomites that threatened him with bodily harm. Police arrived quickly. A captain told us that the police were there strictly for our protection. They went on to say that our reputation had preceded us, and they had no worries about us, but were concerned about their own residents! They stationed uniformed officers with our street preacher for the duration of the event. Aaron Murch (19) shown above, had a peach pit thrown at him from a moving car. Police witnessed the incident, pulled the car over, and the passenger was issued an arrest ticket for assault! The police captain apologized to Bruce for the behavior of the residents of his city. Another Christian police officer told Pastor Matt Trewhella, "When you go, you need to shake the dust off your shoes, because this is one evil town"!
As additional testimony to that fact, Bruce was the first person to ever be arrested in Vermont for saving unborn babies back in 1990. He was arrested twice at an abortuary in Burlington that was run by a coven of lesbian witches! This is not editorial hyperbole. This was actually a well-known fact which was proudly acknowledged by them.
