Day 9: Hyannis, Cape Cod, Plymouth & Boston's Kenmore Square
This was the last official day of the tour. The Missionaries made a surprise stop in Rochester, NY the next day on their way back to Milwaukee without the Murches. Hyannis is a pretty little town on Cape Cod, which juts out in the shape of a boot from Massachusetts. It is the home of the Kennedy Compound. It is also where Bruce & Beverly Murch spent part of their honeymoon, as many native New Englanders do.

These folks were not happy to see us this time. The missionaries set up less than a quarter mile from the only abortuary on Cape Cod. This place was the scene of an Operation Rescue event back in 1990. Bruce and four other Rescuers were locked together at the neck with horseshoe bicycle locks for thirteen hours, successfully closing the killing center for the day and saving two babies lives in the process.
Today,
though, we manned our signs and handed out flyers. The local store owners were
incensed. Bruce brought four literature teams down into downtown Hyannis,
placing two teams at busy intersections and driving two teams through
residential neighborhoods.
Once again, pro-aborts got violent. It's amazing how we never hear about pro-abortion violence on the news. We hear manufactured tales of pro-life violence, but rarely do you get the accounts of the myriad of attacks by pro-aborts against those who stand peacefully to speak up for the pre-born.
A local shop owner was outraged that folks were holding the bloody photographs outside his sheet metal shop. He threatened Denny Green, who was looking after his own son, Gabriel and Hannah Murch (10). The man got in his vehicle and accelerated in the parking lot toward young Gabriel. Denny got him out of the way. The man then aimed for Hannah and squeeled tires accelerating toward her. She jumped out of the way and the vehicle banged into the street sign that she had her sign propped against.
Denny got the whole thing on videotape. When police arrived, Denny showed the video to them, and the man was arrested for "attempted assault with a motor vehicle". Denny will return for a court date and drive to Massachusetts when it comes up. Hannah Murch and Gabriel Green were divinely protected, as all of the Missionaries have been each time we go out. We have never had a serious injury on one of these tours, in spite of the many attacks. We go on these tours without fear for the safety of our children. While we remain prudent and watchful, God has consistently protected them from any harm.
Plymouth
After Cape Cod, the Missionaries took a short tourist stop to Plymouth, home of the Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock and Plymouth Plantation. We had limited time, but the Missionaries, many of whom had never seen the ocean, had a chance to eat REAL seafood and smell the great salt air, along with getting a great history lesson.
We
almost wept when we read the inscription on the memorial to William Bradford,
first Governor of the Plymouth Colony. These inscriptions and our original
colonial documents make it clear that this nation was settled for the express
purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God and His Son Jesus Christ. Anyone who
tries to claim otherwise is simply a politically correct, ignorant fool. The
Mayflower Compact, The Articles of Confederation of the United Colonies of New
England, and all the original charters confirm this fact.
Here is the inscription
describing the purpose for the Plymouth Colony:
"Lastly (and which was not least) a great hope & inward zeall they had of laying some good foundation (or at least to make some way thereunto) for ye propagating & advancing ye gospel of ye kingdom of Christ in those remote parts of ye world, yea, though they should be even as stepping stones unto others for ye performing of so great a work".
Now the very nation, yea the very colony they established for the purpose of propagating the Gospel of Christ must itself be evangelized, having slidden from its foundations and having slipped its moorings. God have mercy on New England.
The Murch Family stops for a photo in front of the Mayflower II a replica of the Mayflower that was built using some of the original ship's gear.
On to the Grande Finale, Kenmore Square!
Kenmore Square, Fenway Park, Home of the Boston Red Sox
We were looking forward to this stop all week. The Murch Family is not really a sports-oriented family. But we love baseball. And the Boston Red Sox is our home team. Bruce first visited Fenway Park in 1966. This trip would be different, however. On a Home Game night that was sold out, over 40,000 people would walk through Kenmore Square headed for Fenway.
This
was by far the most apathetic crowd we had encountered. There were no screaming
pro-aborts. The most reaction that could be had was an occasional middle finger
being extended as they walked or drove by. The preachers preached and literally
every missionary, all 90 of us, carried literature. It was so difficult to get
into the square that the missionaries had to get in by train, while the truck
with the signs had to circle around the whole two hours. We only took out about
15 signs and banners and placed them at strategic spots in the square. Our
mission was of course accomplished, but this was a mission of prophetic warning
rather than an appeal or a dialogue or a debate. They were a hard, cold bunch.
Bev, Evan, Elijah and Josiah passed out literature as folks streamed by in waves of several hundred at a time. The little guys seemed to have better success getting folks to take the literature. Bev was pretty persistent, though, and had plenty to say when folks would make a remark about the signs or why we were here.
Boston area residents joined us again for this stop. Many of these folks have been on the streets for many years, the lone voices in this huge sea of liberalism and decadence.

Aaron Murch holds a banner in the sea of people advancing to the gates of Fenway Park. Ben Murch couldn't give away literature to this crowd if he put a $5 bill on the top, they were so apathetic. Street preacher Jason Storm (a great name for this guy) asks the question of the Red Sox Fans, "Why SHOULD God bless America?". There were a few folks who attempted to answer that question over the course of the week. The answers were silly humanism for the most part, folks claiming that we were a "good" and "generous" country. The fact that we kill over 4,000 babies each day by surgical abortion alone, and ten times that number by chemical abortifacient "birth control" would seem to belie the assertion that our nation is "good".

All good things must come to an end. This was the last stop for the Murch Family, and we parted company with the Missionaries to the Preborn on the streets of Boston. As Bruce said said the goodbyes, there was a sense of both sadness that it was over, and joy that it had been such a grand success. Full Quiver Mission would like to thank Pastor Matt Trewhella and the Missionaries to the Preborn for coming to New England and for providing the organizational structure that made this trip both enjoyable and successful. We look forward to doing many tours with them in the future.

Full Quiver Mission intends to return to New England next year. The tour will be shorter and smaller and we will not have the Missionaries with us. But we intend to help the locals that approached us to develop a similar work on a permanent basis in New England. We will go to Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and to Portland, Maine. We will lay some groundwork with local pastors to solicit their involvement for a permanent mission, and we will offer our help in an advisory capacity. Then we will come up once a year to help out and give a boost to the local movement.
Please pray for this vision. This is a prototype for our ministry that we would like to duplicate in other geographical areas.
For various articles (none of which were particularly flattering), check out the News links. If nothing else, they prove that we caused "No Small Stir"
Acts 19:23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
If you would like to help Full Quiver Mission in any way; through finances, participation in events or regular commitment to prayer, please email us and let us know. We rely on the support of Christians who wish to see this ministry advance, hearts changed, and the wicked warned of their impending peril.
