On April 29, Holocaust Remembrance Day, The Murch Family returned to the abortuary in Roanoke, Virginia. We had not been there in several months. Since our move to our beloved Covenant Farm, we are now almost 90 miles away from this abortuary. Lauren turned 16 on this day, and she wished as a birthday present, that we would make the trip back to intervene for the babies in Roanoke.

Around 8:00 am or so, the clinic director, David Nova arrived. Our 9-year-old son Evan routinely rebukes Nova for his complicity in the slaughter that occurs there every Tuesday. Today was no different. What was different was a new sign that Nova had created especially for the Murch Family. Two years ago or so, Nova started a program he called "Pledge-A-Picket". The idea was that he would get people to pledge a certain dollar amount for every one of us that showed up. At the height of our activity there, we routinely had 25-30 people in front of Planned Parenthood. Mr. Nova was proud of his idea, and the willing pro-abortion lackeys in the Roanoke Times eagerly snatched up the story. Nova handed out flyers and made sure we got some, too. His message was that we were actually supporting abortions by being in front of P.P. because the more of us there were, the more money they got!

Nova told Bruce that he had the sign made months ago, but didn't bring it out until we showed up. In a rare conversation with Nova, Bruce was told that local P.P.'s all over the country had contacted him about us. How would these other abortuaries know it was the Murch Family out there? As we related after the Deep South Tour, one of the Police Chiefs that Bruce worked with in a city in Alabama revealed that the FBI had contacted them, along with PP officials, with huge dossiers on several of us. The FBI keeps tabs on this web site, and warns the local Police Departments and the local abortuaries that we are coming. Some of these have contacted Nova, having been told that we are from his area, and seeing it on this web site.

Nova claims that he has raised well over the $46,358 on the sign, but he has not updated it, because we were not around. This was the first unveiling of the sign, which Nova plans to bring out whenever we arrive. He also said he told the National PP office that they should not be so concerned with some of the former national leaders that have done nothing for years, but should be concerned with our family "because you have so darn many kids". Bruce told Nova that even if the $46,000 figure was correct, it was worth all that and more when we save just ONE baby from death. Furthermore, we know for a fact that we have saved many, at least 25 since we started going there in 2000.

In spite of the unusual aspect of the sign, there were the usual activities going on at the death mill. At left, Bev calls out to a young woman who was standing outside having a smoke. She listened with her head down, even after her smoke was done. She ended up leaving before the abortionist arrived. While we certainly cannot be sure, we hope that this represented a changed mind. Sometimes they will speak to us or thank us, sometimes not. At right a car pulls up to the Drive Up Window. That's right, folks. Planned Parenthood in Roanoke boasts of being one of the first in the nation to offer drive-up birth control. We often see people with fish signs, crosses, and Christian bumper stickers driving right up so they can be complicit in the chemical death of their own children and grandchildren.
David Nova poses proudly in front his sign. Nova is a 30-something father of one child who, as a Jew, cannot see the connection between the Nazi Holocaust and the American Holocaust. He has heard the Word of God from many people many times. We continue to pray that God will grant him a place of repentance.
The real moral of this story is that EVERYONE can make a difference. The Murch Family is nothing special. We are just a family committed to serve God and stand up for righteousness and against evil in the Public Square. The result is that the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world follows our every move; abortionists and abortuary directors all over the United States are concerned when we plan to show up; death threats are made, attempts to sabotage email and web servers ensues.
Why is there such attention by the promoters and defenders of child-killing to this one family? BECAUSE WHAT WE DO WORKS!!
If you would like to help the Murch Family continue in this powerful and effective work, click on the "Contact Us" link above. We are trying to raise enough money to purchase 20 new signs (approximately $2,000) and 10,000 pieces of literature (approximately $800) for our upcoming ministry tours.
