Lauren &
Nathan courted for about a year before their marriage. They met
at one of tours through Virginia, when Nathan hitched a ride with
some folks visiting his work place at Creation Science Institute
in Pensacola. After he had ministered alongside our family several
times, Nathan was approached by Bruce to see if he was interested
in courting Lauren. While this is strange by today's standards,
there is little that the Murches do by today's standards anymore,
as those standards are corrupt and worldly for the most part.
After a traditional
courtship in which there was no unsupervised dating nor physical
contact, Nathan and Lauren, who had both kept themselves pure
for marriage, did not have their first kiss at their wedding,
wanting to save that special moment for the privacy and intimacy
of their exclusive company rather than doing it in public.
The wedding,
simple and basic by the demands of a ministry family with little
disposable income, was beautiful nonetheless. Lauren's wedding
dress was made by her friend, Shaela Carpenter of West Virginia.
Lauren and Shaela's younger sister helped, and also made the bridesmaid's
dresses. Beverly designed and created the table decorations and
the floral arrangements. Lauren made her own wedding cake, and
had some professional help spreading the frosting by her friend
Emily Yoder of Missouri.
Our dear friend,
Pastor Jim Grove performed the wedding. He also supplied the church
and the reception hall at no charge. The members of the church,
our long-time ministry friends, cooked a beautiful turkey dinner
with all the fixins free of charge. The Murch Family has been
ministering with this pastor and congregation since 2001, most
famously in the Halloween Parade in York, which resulted in us
filing a federal lawsuit against the City for shutting down our
sign ministry at the parade, and confiscating our signs.
After a honeymoon
in Williamsburg, Virginia, the newlyweds returned to Covenant
Farm for a few days, and Beverly & Bruce drove them down to
their new home in Pensacola down the road from Nathan's workplace
at Dr. Kent Hovind's Creation Science Institute and Dinosaur Adventure
Land ministries.

whatever help they can get starting out. Theirs is a humble
beginning, but one that, just like Beverly and I, they deliberately
chose in order to serve God diligently.
